Day 24: at the business end of the walk
Day 24:
Day 24: I parted company with Sarah at 7 am at the station and headed north out of Carlisle. I walked through the last English settlement before the border, Longtown, realised again that the footpath route was a sea of nettles and again opted for a road route that led me off the map but went in the right direction and eventually led me to Langholm, the first Scottish town across the border. I'm taking a break in a pub there, I've bought supplies which I'll need because there are no other shops until Peebles which is over a day's walk away. Back to rough camping. At least now I'm at the business end of the walk.
A note about the blog
I must be the only LEJOGer without a smart phone. This means I don't have the ability to update this blog when I'm on the trail. My support team back home kindly offered to update the blog for me, so this will be communicated by text message and written up on my behalf. It will therefore be brief and without photos. I will expand on this when I get back from my journal entries, dictaphone recordings and photo journal. The detailed account will be published as a book which will be available on Amazon.
